Delighted to announce that we will have the privilege of hosting three exceptional artists during the opening night of my summer residency, "Dance of Didon," on July 22nd at Waxbar.
Zag ?? ?? and Shaqdi ?? ?? from "My Analog Journal" (@myanalogjournal), the finest music YouTube channel dedicated to showcasing diverse sounds and genres worldwide through vinyl. Expect to be taken on a musical trip through high-energy grooves, disco classics, soulful house, and "unshazamable" gems from the Mediterranean and beyond, dating from the early '70s to the early '90s. Sharouh ?? ?? represents the Mediterranean better than anyone, both ethnically and musically. She's a DJ and producer who invites electro to blend with music from the Maghreb and the Middle East. Her remixes of Judeo-Arabic and Maghrebian girl power nuggets sometimes make way for Afro, acid, or punk touches in vibrant sets, where samples of feminist speeches rub shoulders with oriental percussion and analogue synths.
Mark your calendars for this one! Tickets will be released soon, and more announcements are on the way.
